Wednesday 25^th May and our final day in Lecce before moving on to Ostuni. After leaving our hotel we headed the short distance to have a walk around the elaborate graves in the cemetery. This was quite an eye opener and like nothing I have seen before. Rows and rows of small buildings/mausoleums which housed the remains of family members from the surrounding areas. It was like walking through a small housing estate, although many of these graves were very elaborately decorated. It was fascinating to see how the Italians look after their bereaved family members compared to ours in the UK.
