Tophill Low Nature Reserve

The reserve is situated in one of Yorkshires Water Treatment Works, nr Watton, Driffield. East Yorkshire.

The Nature reserve was opened in 1993 and is dominated by two huge reservoirs known as ‘O’ and ‘D’, O reservoir being round in shape and D reservoir half oval shape, both are a haven for wildfowl and credited with SSSI status.

The river Hull runs alongside the reserve. There are several footpaths around the site which link up the 12 hides. The hides provide a good viewing platform across some of the smaller ponds, reed beds and grassland.

There is a large car park and a small entry fee. A new visitor’s centre was opened in June 2017.
